Appreciation to the Legislative Service
6th June 2023 – 6th June 2026
To the Clerk of the House & Head of Legislative Service,
The Deputy Clerk, Directors, Heads of Departments, and All Staff of the Ekiti State House of Assembly,
My dear colleagues in service,
Today, 6th June 2026, as the 7th Assembly marks 3 years since inauguration, my heart is full of appreciation — not just for the Honourable Members, but most especially for you: the engine room of this House.
You are the Clerk’s team. The silent workers. The early callers and late closers. The draftsmen of our Bills, the keepers of our records, the managers of our committees, the technicians behind our live stream, the cleaners of our Chambers, the drivers, the security, the protocol team.
Let me say this plainly: No law would have been passed, no reform achieved, no anniversary celebrated without your dedication.
Honourable Members make the laws, but you make lawmaking possible. You turned political vision into administrative reality. For your loyalty, professionalism, and selflessness in serving Ekiti people through us, I say E sé pupo.
TOGETHER, IN 3 YEARS, WE HAVE ACHIEVED BECAUSE OF YOU:
1. We Built a 21st Century Legislature
Your ICT team gave Ekiti Nigeria’s first fully digitalised chamber. E-voting, paperless plenary; that was your innovation. The remodeling of this complex to 85% completion, the new broadcast studio, the functional website, the digital library, all executed with your cooperations. You moved us from files to the future.
2. We Delivered Quality Legislation
35 Bills passed. 33 signed into Law. 24 public hearings coordinated. 69 resolutions processed out of 80 moved. Behind every Bill was a Director drafting, a Committee Secretary organizing, a Hansard team capturing every word. Your accuracy gave our laws credibility.
3. We Prioritized Staff Welfare & Growth
Because of your commitment, we established the autonomous House of Assembly Loans Board; your welfare board, managed by your own. We held 3 major retreats + regular capacity trainings. You asked for tools to grow, and we provided them because you deserve it.
4. We Became a National Model
In 2024, the Bureau of Public Service Reforms office of the Presidency named us Best Performing Assembly on ICT Integration in Nigeria. Other Assemblies came to understudy Ekiti. They didn’t come to see Honourable Members. They came to see your systems, your processes, your excellence. You put Ekiti on the map.
5. We Maintained Peace & Dignity
Through seamless coordination by the Office of the Clerk, we enjoyed zero staff strike, zero rancour, and a smooth legislative-executive relationship. That is rare. That is discipline. That is you.
My dear staff, I see your sacrifices. I see the extra hours, the patience with politicians, the commitment even when no one is watching. Government may not always say thank you, but today the 7th Assembly is saying it loudly: THANK YOU.
As we begin Year 4, my charge is simple: Let’s do even more. More efficiency. More innovation. More service. The people of Ekiti expect excellence, and you have proven you can deliver it.
To the Clerk of the House, thank you for your steady leadership, wisdom, and fatherly guidance to all staff. You have been the bridge between the political and administrative arms, and you have built it well.
May God bless every one of you. May your labour never be in vain. And may this House remain a place of pride, growth, and dignity for all workers.
With profound respect and gratitude,
Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye
Speaker, 7th Ekiti State House of Assembly
