ARIBASOYE BAGS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN PARLIAMENTARY SERVICE

...Strengthens ties with other APC Speakers.

The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ekiti State Branch, has presented an Award of Excellence in Parliamentary Service to the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye.

Presenting the award to the Speaker in his office on Tuesday, the Union, led by its Chairman, Comrade James Adetunla, outlined the justifications for the honour, citing Aribasoye’s exceptional dedication to public service, exemplary leadership, and outstanding humanity.

JUSUN added that the Ekiti Speaker has, through various initiatives, contributed significantly to the growth and integrity of the judiciary.

In his response, Aribasoye expressed appreciation for the recognition, noting that the efforts of the 7th Assembly to optimise workforce welfare have led to notable achievements including the approval of the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for staff, the activation of the Assembly Loans Board, and the regular training of personnel, among others.

In the meantime, Speaker Aribasoye has disclosed that resourceful discussions are ongoing among Speakers of State Assemblies elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), aimed at achieving enviable progress across the states.

Aribasoye, who recently joined his APC colleagues in Ilorin, Kwara State, to deliberate on issues affecting the forum, said plans were considered for a legislative summit later in the year.

According to him, the summit will focus on matters tailored towards harmonising ideas and strengthening legislative practice.

At the meeting, the need for State Assemblies to embrace digitalisation was highlighted, a move which  has already taken flight in Ekiti State.

Earlier, the Ekiti Speaker joined his fellow APC Speakers to observe plenary at the Kwara State House of Assembly, where the Kwara Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu, thanked them for the historic visit,  noting that it pleasantly coincided with the debate and passage of their 2026 State budget.
