ARIBASOYE LAUDS GOVERNOR OYEBANJI FOR APPROVING NEW SALARY STRUCTURE FOR EKITI ASSEMBLY WORKERS

The Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker has thanked the Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, for the approval of the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for the assembly workforce.

In a press statement, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, who described the approval as thoughtful and encouraging, underlined its timeliness and significance, noting that it is proof that the hard work of the workers is being accorded due recognition.

The Speaker noted that this new development will spur more dedication while showing the governor’s appreciation of the role legislative staff play in pushing the works of the assembly forward.

"This initiative is a timely and significant boost for our dedicated staff, recognizing their hard work and commitment. Your decision to prioritize their welfare not only demonstrates your understanding of the essential role they play in the effective functioning of our legislative duties but also aligns perfectly with your shared prosperity mantra."

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the entire workforce, Aribasoye said, "This welfare package will undoubtedly enhance their morale and motivation, enabling them to continue serving the people of Ekiti State with diligence and dedication."

The Ekiti Speaker explained that the 7th assembly was committed to ensuring the welfare of the bureaucracy is prioritized, adding that the activation of the Assembly Loans Board under his watch was one of many steps and plans aimed at making the workers smile.

"Presently, the House of Assembly is running serialised trainings for staff on departmental basis as part of its resolve to constantly train and retrain its workforce for optimal delivery.

"It is worthy of note that, last year, we were able to, for the first time, make the House of Assembly Loans Board active, disbursing loans accordingly to staff members. This also came to fruition with the support of the Governor, who does not trivialize anything that affects workers."

Aribasoye enjoined workers at the legislature to ensure that this higher pay translates to higher performance and commitment, adding that the system must be sustained in a qualitative manner.
