EKITI STATE DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT PROMOTION AGENCY AMENDMENT BILL, (EKDIPA), 2023
Motion:
The need to remodeling/strengthen and creating rigorous campaign on Adunni Olayinka Cancer Diagnostic Centre for the prevention and treatment of prostate and other cancers in Ekiti State
1. Grassroots Development and Infrastructure Bill:
• Sponsored initiatives aimed at improving rural infrastructure, including road rehabilitation, electrification, and access to potable water;
• Advocated policies to ensure equitable distribution of development projects across communities;
2. Youth Empowerment and Employment Promotion Bill:
• Championed legislation focused on youth empowerment through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship development, and job creation schemes;

• Supported and sponsored bills targeted at improving the standard of education;
• Advocated for better funding of public schools, provision of learning materials, and improved welfare for teachers;

• Promoted increased access to affordable healthcare services, especially in rural areas;

• Sponsored motions calling for proper monitoring of government projects and prudent use of public funds;
• Advocated for transparency in governance and strengthened oversight mechanisms;

Invest in education, particularly in vocational and digital skills training, to prepare the youth for the modern workforce. Build partnerships with educational institutions and private companies to create opportunities for entrepreneurship and job creation.

Improve the healthcare infrastructure by building well-equipped hospitals and clinics in rural and urban areas. Focus on maternal and child health services, providing subsidies for medical expenses, and launching health awareness campaigns.

Promote agricultural growth by supporting farmers with access to modern tools, irrigation facilities, and affordable financing. Work on policies that enhance value addition, thereby increasing income for farmers through agro-processing initiatives.

Champion policies that support women’s empowerment, encouraging financial inclusion and entrepreneurship. Create welfare programs targeting the most vulnerable populations, including widows, elderly citizens, and persons with disabilities.

Work towards enhancing the state’s infrastructure by building and maintaining quality road networks, upgrading educational and health institutions, and ensuring rural areas are as developed as urban centers.

Champion reforms that improve the quality of education at all levels, from primary to tertiary institutions. Advocate for curriculum upgrades that include entrepreneurship and tech skills to make Ekiti graduates competitive globally.
*4. Sustainable Agriculture:*
Turn Ekiti into the food basket of Nigeria by modernizing agriculture, promoting sustainable farming practices, and supporting agricultural value chains that add value to produce before it reaches the market.
*5. Social Security and Safety Nets:*
Create programs that provide safety nets for the vulnerable, including the elderly, women, and children. Advocate for accessible healthcare, food security, and education subsidies for low-income families.
*6. Transparency and Good Governance:*
Promote transparency, accountability, and good governance by ensuring open budget processes, strengthening anti-corruption agencies, and building trust between the government and the people.

Develop Ekiti's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty into a robust tourism sector. Work with stakeholders to preserve cultural sites and organize events that showcase Ekiti’s history, arts, and traditions to boost tourism and create jobs.
